Supply and Install Two TECO Air Conditioners
Valley Air Conditioning Delivers Tailored Cooling Solutions in Tighes Hill, NSW
Relocation and Installation of Energy-Efficient TECO Split Systems
Valley Air Conditioning recently completed a multi-faceted air conditioning project at a residential property in Tighes Hill, New South Wales. The job involved the careful removal and relocation of an existing air conditioner to the main bedroom, along with the supply and installation of two brand new TECO 2.6kW inverter reverse cycle split system units, one in the living room and the other in the second bedroom.
This project was a perfect example of Valley Air Conditioning’s ability to design and implement custom cooling and heating solutions that work efficiently within the unique layout and budget of each home. The result? A more comfortable, energy-efficient living environment for the occupants.
Step 1: Assessment and Planning
Our team began the job with a site assessment to understand the condition of the existing air conditioner and the client’s goals for better temperature control throughout the home. The homeowner had a functional split system in one room, but it wasn’t optimally located to serve their needs.
After a discussion about their heating and cooling requirements, we proposed relocating the existing unit to the main bedroom, where it would be best utilised, and installing two new TECO 2.6kW inverter systems to improve climate control in the living room and second bedroom. TECO was chosen for its combination of reliable performance, energy efficiency, and affordability.
Step 2: Removing and Relocating the Existing System
Relocating a split system is a precise task that involves more than simply uninstalling and reinstalling a unit. We started by safely decommissioning the air conditioner, recovering any remaining refrigerant from the lines using certified equipment to comply with environmental standards.
Once the unit was removed from its original location, we prepared the main bedroom for its reinstallation. This included:
- Installing a new mounting bracket on the interior wall.
- Running fresh pipework and drain lines through the wall cavity.
- Creating a weatherproof penetration for the interconnecting cables and refrigerant lines.
- Relocating the outdoor compressor unit to a new position just outside the bedroom window, where it would be unobtrusive and allow for proper airflow.
The unit was then vacuum tested and recommissioned to ensure reliable operation. It now provides quiet and efficient cooling for restful nights in the main bedroom.
Step 3: Installing the New TECO 2.6kW Split Systems
With the existing system successfully relocated, we turned our attention to the installation of two brand-new TECO 2.6kW inverter reverse cycle split systems. These systems were chosen to suit the small to medium size of the second bedroom and the main living space.
Second Bedroom:
In the second bedroom, the TECO unit was mounted high on the wall to maximise airflow across the room. We routed new copper pipework and drain lines through the wall cavity, connected the electrical supply, and positioned the outdoor unit just below the window to minimise visual impact and noise. Once installed, the system was tested for leaks and functionality.
Living Room:
The main living area required a smart placement to distribute air evenly across the space without blowing directly onto seating areas. We installed the TECO unit centrally on the longest interior wall, with the outdoor condenser placed discreetly along the side of the home. The 2.6kW capacity of the unit is ideal for maintaining a consistent and comfortable temperature in the living room throughout the year.
Step 4: Final Testing and Customer Handover
After all systems were installed, we completed a full operational test. This included:
- Checking refrigerant pressures to ensure correct charge levels.
- Testing cooling and heating modes.
- Verifying drain line performance.
- Inspecting airflow direction and fan speed control.
Once confirmed that all units were functioning perfectly, we provided the homeowner with a full demonstration of how to operate the remote controls, set timers, and perform basic maintenance such as filter cleaning.
A Customised Cooling Upgrade That Delivers Year-Round Comfort
The end result of this project was a vastly improved comfort level across the entire home. By relocating the existing air conditioner to the main bedroom and installing two brand-new TECO inverter systems, Valley Air Conditioning ensured that each room now has its own dedicated, energy-efficient climate control system.
This job highlighted our commitment to delivering practical, tailored solutions that not only meet but exceed the homeowner’s expectations—providing comfort, energy savings, and reliable performance.
